How To Consign Your Clothing


We take currently styled, very good condition seasonal clothes. We do not take garage sale leftovers!  In addition, we do not accept the following brands:  Honors, Trend Basics, Basic Editions, Faded Glory, Bobbie Brooks, White Stag, Fashion Bug, Alfred Dunner, Sag Harbor and similar brands.  

If a loved one has passed away, please have a person with no emotional attachment go through the items with a critical eye before bringing them in for consignment.  


We take Spring/Summer items from January through the end of July. We take Fall/Winter items from August through the end of December.

The first step in consigning is calling us at (815) 748-3113 to schedule a drop-off appointment.  We do not take appointments by e-mail.  Items brought in for consignment must be sorted for condition/season/style and be either on hangers or neatly folded in bags.  We have a limit of 100 items per drop off. This is 4 large bags. If you use bags, please make sure of the following:  1) pay a little more for good quality bags as the cheap ones rip easily and clothes fall out;  2) if you need help carrying your bag, it's too full!  Split it up into manageable size bags, because if you can't carry it, we can't either!  Please do not bring in containers or hangers that you need back.  Items must be freshly cleaned, within the last 72 hours.

Your items will be tagged and put out for sale within one week of your drop-off appointment.  If you would like to pick up items we could not put out for sale, you must come in one week later to pick them up, or they will be donated the following morning (unless other arrangements were made at the time of the drop-off).  At that time, we would also be glad to print a listing of the items we put out for sale.  Example:  If you have a drop-off appointment for Wednesday, January 8, your items would be out on the floor within a week and you would have to come in on Wednesday, January 15 to pick up any items we could not take and a listing of what we put out for sale.  If you don't come in that day, the items we couldn't take will be donated Thursday, January 16.

We have a 60 day consignment period.  If items do not sell after 3 weeks, we reserve the right to reduce the price.  At the end of your consignment period you will have 1 week to come in and pick up any items that did not sell. The detailed listing you receive will indicate the pickup date for these items. We do ask that you call ahead to arrange a time to pick up items so that we can get them together for you.

You receive 40% of the sales price. We do checks at the beginning of every month for items that sold the previous month and we can mail them for a small fee.
